The Stand (Interior Design, first year project)
The exercise involves creating a small structure in an existing commercial space. The mission is to design and complete a comprehensive setup, taking into account the product to be displayed and adapting the decor around it. The booth should encapsulate the spirit of the company through a thoughtful composition and the use of appropriate materials, making it both clear and captivating among the others. You are tasked with selecting the types and quantities of products to be showcased. The goal is to represent the company and its ethos through the form and decor, using a limited number of displayed products.
This theme encourages reflection on a probable functional program, human ergonomics, the materials to be used, and simple construction techniques. The project, installed in a real space and a simple context, extends the reflection on its integration into the location on multiple levels: visibility, accessibility, use, dimensional scale, fixing techniques, etc.
The student can focus on the ergonomic study on a human scale, the design of comfortable seating and desks, a small interview shell, and defining a balanced ensemble between function, space, aesthetics, and techniques. The formalization is open, adhering to simple composition criteria: orthogonal, organic, or mixed. The model must symbolize the chosen materials.
