The Mats ( Interior Design, first year project)

The exercise is aimed at developing the ability to concretize abstract concepts. Additionally, the student will enhance their manual skills by formalizing exact and precise models. A list of words (embedded, articulated, deep, woven, curved, symmetrical, etc.) is given to the students to reflect on their meaning and the best way to represent them concretely. Constraints are provided, such as the materials (Bristol paper or recycled paper), the size of the support, framing, etc. The student must demonstrate the ability to respond to the request in a creative and personal manner, while exploring subtle, indirect, and innovative approaches to express the meaning of each word.
